A whistleblower that is not talked about in this section is Dr. Jeffrey S. Wigand. Dr. Wigand worked for Brown and Williamson as vice president of research and development. While there he worked to create less harmful cigarettes. He revealed to the nation that Brown and Williamson purposely increased the amount of nicotine in their tobacco. In March of 1993 he was fired from his job at Brown and Williamson because he found out executives of the corporation approved adding carcinogenic and addictive substances to their cigarettes.

Dr. Wigand is very similar to Dr. Stockmann. Both worked for a corporation that allowed there product to bring harm to people, and both fought against this. They also lost there jobs because they revealed the truth to the public. In Dr. Wigand’s case, however, the public supported his discovery.

  1. I see you did a lot of good research and followed the directions for the most part but I don't think you watched the powerpoint presentation because Jeffrey Wigand was the example we used! You needed to find someone not mentioned. Regardless, I loved the wordle! Great color and font!
