Samantha Blog Post 2

Richard A. Clarke was an expert on security, especially in the area of counter-terrorism. When the September 11th attacks happened, he was a counter-terrorism adviser on the US National Security Council. He ended up resigning that same year and and publishing his book, Against All Enemies: Inside Americas War on Terror--What Really Happened. In this book he basically tore down the Bush Administration and how it handled terrorism before and after the attacks.

Clarke was like Dr. Stockmann in that they were both working against an authority above their own. Both saw that the men in power had made a mistake and tried to do something to fix it. Unfortunately for Dr. Stockmann he hadn't succeeded at the end of the story. Clarke didn't necessarily succeed either but he was at least able to publish something for the public and to gain what I am sure are immense audiences that agree with him.

  1. Wow Richard Clarke, he really was a whistleblower. I think this is a whistleblower that many people don’t know about and I for one really enjoyed reading about it, however I would like more background on some of the facts that was in his book. Dr. Stockmann and Richard Clarke are very much alike in a sense that they both wanted to get there word out I just wish that Dr. Stockmann got the same opportunity as Clarke did. Great Job.

  2. I liked your choice because I thought his revolt against authority is much like doctor stockman's in the sense that Richard Clarke stuck to his morals rather than hiding this information the people he gave up his position to send a message. nice job! try include a wordle and a text reference next time
