  • Research a famous whistleblower not mentioned in this lesson.
  • Summarize briefly who this person was and why this person was a whistleblower.
  • Compare and contrast this person to the whistleblower from Enemy of the People, Dr. Stockmann.
A famous whistle blower not mentioned on mondays class isFrank Serpico. He was a New York city police officer. He is known for testifying against his own department for its corruption. Serpico was a police officer that worked in Brooklyn and the bronx. He never got involved in orruption like taking moeny from poeple so they dont go to jail or anything like that. Serpico risked his life in the fight to expose the police officers who were corrupt. Soon after he reported that he had evidence to back up his statements of corruption. They try to bury him but soon afer another cop named david durk helped him exxpose the corruption of the police force. he found places where secret meetings were held of corruption. He then went to the new york times and madefront page story about the corruption int he New York polie department. This got others involved including the Mayor of the town and they started a anti corruption agency. later a movie was made out of the story of Frank Serpico. This guy could be related to Dr. Stockmann in many ways. He did not give up in letting the public know what was going on and was trying his hardest to stop it and but his life on the line for the society just like Dr. Stockmann.
