Cedric Cummings Blog Post 2

Linda Tripp told the Office of Independent Counsel that her friend had committed perjury — starting the whole "Monica Lewinsky affair" in 1998. The Clinton administration then leaked personal information about her, and she successfully pursued a lawsuit based on this violation of the Privacy Act of 1974.

Like Dr. Stockmann, Linda became the enemy of the people. Since she spoke out against the highest name in the political system, all of his followers looked down upon here and she had to deal with that burden. Though her motives could have been selfish and unselfish, the truth came out and people could not believe it. They all turned against her and her reputation was ruined.

  1. Oh wow this is some high class whistle blowing. Some more information on the path of blowing the whole thing out of the water would be nice, but still a very interesting read.

  2. I think taking about Linda Tripp was a great idea. She is a very famous whistleblower that really took a stand. I just wish you gave a little bit more information about what happened with her and the lawsuit. The analysis between Dr. Stockmann and Linda was great she really did become and Enemy of the People. One thing you did forget however was your wordle, but overall great work.

  3. I like the correlation of the Political Scandal with Monicka Lewinsky, and the Health issue with Dr. Stockmann. Both capture a sense of courage amidst great adversity, and both expose their loneliness as whistleblowers. Perhaps a more elaborate explication of the two scandals could help christen the correlation of the two, but overall a thorough essay.

  5. Cedric, Linda Tripp was such a great choice for a whistleblower, however, I think you could have elaborated a bit more on her background in relation to the "affair." Your blog seemed to be well thought out and researched.

  6. Cedric,
This is the epitomy of one the most famous presidential scandals in U.S history between Lewinski and Clinton. Yet, i would have liked more information and correlations between Dr. stockmann and Linda Tripp. Overall, well done. Unselfish seems to be the word to describe Linda Tripp and her motives to reveal the truth. What do u think?
