NARRATOR: It was a dark gloomy evening around 8pm. Georgie and his girlfriend, Anna, are enjoying a book in the living room of their home.

SOUND: Lightening crashes!

GEORGIE: I didn’t realize a storm was coming tonight.

ANNA: At least we already lit the candles and are prepared in case the electricity goes out.

SOUND: Flipping of the books pages as the couple continues to read.

SOUND: creaking floorboards above their heads.

ANNA: (whisper) Did you hear that?

GEORGIE: What are you talking about?

ANNA: The floorboards.

GEORGIE: It’s all in your head doll, relax.

SOUND: Door SLAMS.

NARRATOR: Georgie and Anna jump from where they are sitting, the book goes flying into the air and the candle lights go out.

SOUND: Air whistling.

GEORGIE: (Whispering and voice cracks) Maybe there is something in the house.

ANNA: (Whispering) I told you… WAIT! Where are you going?!

NARRATOR: Georgie gets up to try and find matches to light a candle

GEORGIE: just hold on I’m looking for matches
ANNA: Good luck with that… what do you think it is?

GEORGIE: I don’t know, it’s an eerie night tonight.

SOUND: Rustling of papers and footsteps above

ANNA: (Whispering) There’s something upstairs!

GEORGIE: Let’s go.

ANNA: What are you crazy?!

GEORGIE: No, come on.

NARRATOR: Georgie and Anna head for the stairs unaware of what lies at the top.

MUSIC: Creepy and soft

SOUND: tip-toeing going up stairs – floorboards creek once they reach the top

MUSIC: Psycho EEK EEK EEK EEK.

ANNA: (SCREAMS WITH TERROR)

NARRATOR: A monster comes face to face with them with the smell of decay and soil. What will happen?! Who will be left?

MUSIC: OUT

  1. Lisa,
I love the dialogue between Georgie and Ann when they first heard the floorboards creek. I thought you could have added a little more when it came to the rising action. Otherwise I loved the idea of a monster upstairs, very creative.

  2. I love George's calling of Anna 'doll'....very New York.

  3. just realized that you didn't explain "they came by night." You used the singular.

  4. I loved your story, I felt like I was really there. I would have liked it if there was a little more scary events that took place before they went upstairs. I did however really enjoy your music and sounds that really puts you in the story. Great job!
